Fluted TV Wall – ORC Week 7
I made soo much work and progress this week but yet I still have tons to do before week 8 for final reveal. But this post is all about my fluted wall. First this is the most expensive DIY I have ever done. The fluted trim alone costed me $986 and home depot shipped straight to home. 2 boxes full of fluted trim. My thought. its going to be such an easy project, but it took me 5 days to complete.
I got this idea from @vintagerevivals she did this to her dining room wall. And I immediately fell in love and kinda replicated the same for my TV wall with my own twist.
All the measurements are specific to my home and design is basically up to your taste. I generally made the measurement decision based on my design alignment with the rest of the house.
I have decided to add 1×4 like she did in the cross pattern then continued with the fluted trim.
Material need
- 1×4 – primed wood – 5
- Nail Gun
- Caulk
- Wood Filler
- Behr Paint
- Roller/Sprayer
- Fluted Trim
Instructions:
- I first installed all my baseboard and the top cross board. Because I guarantee you the wall is not going to be straight and the height going to change for each trim installation.
- Cut the fluted Trim to the desired length and start installing with nail gun. Tips: Always start from one end of the wall.
- I had to make it complicated so I incorporated floating shelf, scones, tv backdrop and so many things. That complicated my cuts. But if its like hers then it should be a breeze and almost in same size.
- Fluted wall installation is done. I still have to paint but I am at a stage where I just don’t like anything I did as part of this ORC. Very nervous that I have screwed it up. So let me know your thoughts in the comment.
